Dayle Hauxwell, Doncaster Sheffield Airport

Dear Members,

On behalf of Doncaster Sheffield Airport, it is with great sadness and regret that we have to share with you the following message about the passing of Dayle Hauxwell, Head of Cargo for DSA, following a short illness.

Dayle Hauxwell, 1970 – 2018

As you may know, Dayle was diagnosed with Cancer in 2016 and fought hard to beat it, and recovered well from numerous operations and chemotherapy.  DSA had the pleasure of having Dayle back in the business for over 12 months but in recent weeks Dayle’s illness returned and it was aggressive. Sadly, his health declined very quickly and Dayle passed away peacefully on Friday 26th January.

Dayle joined DSA in 2014 achieving much in a relatively short period of time, growing cargo throughput to record levels and established great relationships with many of you in order to do so. Whilst there is a difficult time ahead, Dayle leaves both us as individuals and our business in much better shape than before he entered our lives. He brought a positive outlook, great warmth of character and a wealth of knowledge to his role.

He was determined to do what many considered couldn’t be done, let’s face it many of you didn’t know where DSA was before he joined the business. He cared deeply about DSA and its impact on your business. My colleagues and I are proud to have worked with him and to be able to consider him a great friend. We will sorely miss him, as I am sure many of you will. Sadly, Dayle leaves behind his wife Hannah and his two young children, Emily and Harry, and our thoughts and prayers are with them.

We as a team are determined to do something positive to remember Dayle and in the coming months we will do some fundraising, on behalf of the family, for them and a charity of their choice. I have no doubt that we can count on your support when the time comes.

We are determined to build on the success and legacy that Dayle leaves and will continue to develop his vision for DSA to be the UK’s Freighter Friendly Airport. We hope you will join us in remembering Dayle’s qualities and thank you for your patience and support.
