Vatry Airport: Air Cargo Information

BACA should like to draw to members’ attention to the following information, issued by the French Civil Aviation Authority:

(Translated text)

“Your company operates aircraft type Ilyushin IL-76 matching the acoustic norms of Part Il, Chapter 2, Volume 1 of Annex 16 to the Convention on International Civil Aviation.

According to the provisions of Directive 2006/93 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 12 December 2006, Member States shall ensure that all aeroplanes operating from airports situated in their territory comply with the standards specified in Part Il, Chapter 3, Volume 1 of Annex 16 to the Convention on International Civil Aviation. In individual cases, Member States may permit the temporary use of aeroplanes matching the norms of Chapter 2 on condition this exemption should be limited to the aeroplanes whose operations are of such an exceptional nature that it would be unreasonable to withhold a temporary exemption.

I inform you that, as from the 12th of January 2015, the air operations, including freight transport, realized with aircraft of Chapter 2 that do not meet the aforesaid exceptional characteristics will not be authorized.

Consequently, I invite you to exclusively use aircraft matching the Community standards required in terms of noise emission.

We remain at your disposal for any further information”.
