Republic of Belarus (Sanctions)

This message is being distibuted on behalf of the UK Government:

The Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office have today designated Belaeronavigatsia, the provider of air navigation services in Belarus, under the Republic of Belarus (Sanctions) (EU Exit) Regulations 2019. The sanctions measure that has been applied to this entity is an asset freeze. This means that it is prohibited to:

– deal with the frozen funds or economic resources, belonging to or owned, held or controlled by Belaeronavigatsia
make funds or economic resources available, directly or indirectly, to, or for the benefit of, Belaeronavigatsia
engage in actions that, directly or indirectly, circumvent the financial sanctions prohibitions

Making funds or economic resources available to  Belaeronavigatsia includes the payments of fees to cover overflight and landing. Any entity that pays such fees directly or indirectly, will be in breach of sanctions regulations and will have committed a criminal offence. More information on financial sanctions is available from the Office of Financial Sanctions Implementation in HM Treasury.
