About ACE17

BACA Training Sessions at Air Charter Expo (ACE’17)

BACA – The Air Charter Association has announced a full day of broker training to coincide with this year’s Air Charter Expo (ACE 17). The one day exhibition takes place at Biggin Hill on September 12th, the complete day of broker training is aimed at all levels of brokers; senior management through to new trainees.

Morning:        Strategic Market Focus

CEO Arrival and Breakfast
This session is by invitation only and is an opportunity for senior management to network and to discuss the market.

* CEO Breakfast Briefing
Hosted and chaired by Richard Mumford, Chairman of BACA. This is an opportunity for senior management to discuss the state of the market and the key issues that need to be addressed, such as disruptive technology and globalisation.  This session is also a key opportunity to help shape the future of BACA to help us to deliver the maximum value to our members.
– Five-minute introduction from Dassault Aviation to their flagship aircraft, the Falcon 8X, on display for the first time at a UK exhibition.
– Ten-minute presentation by Centrik on how risk assessments alone do not reduce risk.

* PayNode Session
PayNode
, the world’s first payment platform created specifically for business aviation is sponsoring the CEO Briefing. Business aviation CEOs and CFOs will have the opportunity to hear the latest predictions for the UK, US and Eurozone economies, interest rates and exchange rates from Jeremy Cook, Chief Economist & Head of Currency Strategy at World First, with introductions from Magnus Henriksson, Global Business Director, PayNode. This session is a must for senior executives whose investment and trading decisions depend upon a correct reading of economic trends in key international markets. A regular on BBC News, BBC Radio, Bloomberg TV and various leading blogs and newspapers, Jeremy Cook is an expert on risk mitigation and hedging strategies. With a strategic emphasis, he is able to put a forward-thinking perspective on current market indicators and the long term implications of fiscal and monetary policy. His strong background in macroeconomics will also shed light on Brexit and the implications on international trading.

* Risk Management and Insurance
A panel of experts looks at insurable risks for charter brokers, including professional indemnity and operator risk.  Panel includes Holly Medford from the JLT Group, Oliver Clarry-Risk from Mountfitchet Risk Solutions and Melanie Daglish from ITIC. Moderated by Matthew Day from Hayward Aviation.

Afternoon:
Focus on Training for Brokers

The afternoon will reprise BACA’s famous broker training sessions, held in the unique setting of the exhibition hall and static display at one of England’s oldest airports.  There is no other opportunity for operational brokers to gain so much practical training on a single day in the UK, while building relationships with key operators.  And it is free!

* The Role of a Broker

BACA’s traditional broker training, delivered by Julie Black from Hunt & Palmer and Glenn Hogben, ACC Aviation, who know how to really make the difference and demonstrate true value in the charter transaction.

* Law for Brokers
Practical guidance from Daniel James at Stevens & Bolton for brokers on the law of agency, key terms in charter contracts and potential bear traps.

* The Operators’ Perspective
Leading operators SaxonAir and Cello Aviation will provide guidance on what it takes to provide a truly memorable customer experience- and the difficulties that can make it all go wrong.  Jack Hellewell and Neil Turnbull will give brokers advice on how to smooth along the operator/broker working partnership, to the benefit of everyone.

* Ground Handling Masterclass
Brokers will learn about ground handling from MD Becky Carver at Weston Aviation, who will deliver a short presentation on how the broker and FBO can work together to provide the best integrated service to clients. The presentation will be followed by a short session with panel of experts (moderated by Nick Weston), including Jason Hayward, General Manager of Universal Aviation UK and Oxford Aviation Services, where attendees can ask questions.

* Aircraft Spotlight

Sovereign Business Jets and Piaggio Aerospace will demonstrate aircraft in a spotlight session among the static display, educating and enthusing the brokers about the aircraft and operator products.

In addition to the training there will be around 60 exhibiting companies and a static display that includes the first UK air show appearance of the Dassault Falcon 8X. The concept is to deliver a day of training that also offers brokers and attendees the chance to network with fellow brokers, engage with operators and review aircraft on the static.

BACA Chairman Richard Mumford advises “This is a fantastic day of training for brokers and visitors to ACE17. We have carefully created a program that offers the chance to learn from the presentations but to put that knowledge to immediate use by engaging in all of the different aspects of ACE17.  BACA training days have been very popular in the past and I am sure that the innovation of a training day combined with the exhibition will deliver yet another successful training program for brokers.”
